Gene dysfunction is a hallmark of cancer. At the CRCT, we aim to discover how this process occurs. Several molecular oncogenic mechanisms are studied by our teams, including cancer cell signaling, genetic instability, gene expression, interconnection between cancer cells and the tumor microenvironment, bioenergetics…

We have set up research axes to explore the molecular complexity of cancer cells and tumor diversity, and we combine the strengths of our research teams to study the different aspects of cell transformation: our goal is to put together all the pieces of the “puzzle” that is cancer, in order to understand what initiates it and makes it progress.

The objective is to federate researchers, clinicians, engineers, technicians and students of the CRCT in order to share a multidisciplinary expertise with the common goal of understanding and targeting the autonomous and non-autonomous mechanisms of cancer oncogenic pathways.

CRCT researchers are exploring the mechanisms of deregulation of RNAs, key players in the control of gene expression, and their role in altering the cellular landscape that can lead to cancer initiation, progression, invasion and metastasis.
